2-year postdoctoral fellow in diagnostic radiology and advanced neuroimaging

A two-year position in a group with research focus on the glymphatic system. Neuroimaging methods used include fMRI, DTI, volumetry and other quantitative methods at 3T and 7T. The position might also include student supervision and teaching.

Job type: Postdoc
Job location: Lund University, Sweden
Deadline: 2025-2-24

Our research group, led by Charalampos Georgiopoulos, a neuroradiologist and associate professor, is dedicated to exploring neurodegenerative processes using advanced imaging techniques. The group benefits from the expertise of Danielle van Westen, also a neuroradiologist and associate professor, as well as a PhD student and a research assistant. In addition, we host medical students writing their theses, enriching our collaborative environment.

We collaborate closely with the department’s MRI physicists, who bring indispensable technical insights. Located at Skåne University Hospital in Lund, we have access to state-of-the-art imaging facilities, including a 7T scanner and multiple 3T scanners.

The main duties include:
-Conduct high-level research within the group’s core areas of interest, with a primary focus on the glymphatic system and its function.
-Lead the analysis of MRI data using advanced image processing techniques and computational tools.
-Contribute in the analysis of fMRI studies focusing on olfactory function.
-Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and internal seminars.
-Mentor students and junior researchers, including medical students working on their theses.
-Assist in applying for research grants and securing funding to support ongoing and future projects.
-Actively engage in knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration to strengthen the research group’s impact.
