ESMRMB Wiki Terms and Code of Conduct

  1. Contributions to this wiki must be related to the science and the practice of MR in medicine and biology and/or to the MR scientific community.
  2. The content of the wiki is public.
  3. Writing to the wiki is restricted to registered users.
  4. Registration is possible for ESMRMB members. Registration is also possible for individuals with a legitimate interest in the topic of the wiki, whose application will be reviewed by the Executive Board of ESMRMB, which has the possibility of delegating this task to the administrators of the wikl. Acceptance of non-member registration is at the ultimate discretion of the Executive Board.
  5. The administrators of the wiki are nominated by the ESMRMB Executive Board.
  6. By contributing to the wiki, you agree that your content will be released under a CC-BY-SA license. You are also the sole responsible, ethically and legally, of the content that you create.
  7. Do not upload or insert content that is covered by copyright (including non-open-access articles). Content that is publicly released under a compatible license can be inserted, provided that the appropriate license requirements are fulfilled (e.g. attribution).
  8. Harmonize your contributions to the current structure of the wiki, both in page organization, and style.
  9. Understand that the wiki is a collaborative project and that your contributions can be modified by others. Contributions that are meant to cause disruption will be monitored, reverted, and sanctioned by the administrators.
  10. Contributions are not pre-approved by the administrators.
  11. In addition to the above, do not post:
    • any message, data, information, text or other material (“Content”) that is unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory, threatening, offensive, vulgar or otherwise injurious to third parties, or that would constitute or encourage a criminal offense, create any liability or violate any local, state, national, or international law or regulation. Users of wiki may be held individually liable for any communications they send through the group.
    • political messages including links to articles and editorial pieces not pertinent to MR.
    • advertisements of products or services by a for-profit entity. This prohibition includes notices of continuing medical education (“CME”) and continuing education (“CE”), or related programs sponsored by any for-profit entity. If you wish to advertise a product or other service by a for-profit entity, please contact the ESMRMB central office (office@esmrmb.org).
    • any harmful content including without limitation, viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, zombies, cancel bots, or any other computer programming routines that may damage, interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, program, data or personal information.
  12. Examples of contributions that are encouraged:
    • Scientific content related to MR.
    • Professional profiles.
    • Announcements of courses, events, workshops, provided that they are organized by a not-for-profit entity.
    • Material for such courses.
    • Job announcements (in the appropriate section)

Community Etiquette

Expected behaviour

  • Practice empathy. Listen and try to understand what members of different backgrounds want to tell you. Be ready to challenge and adapt your own understanding, expectations and behavior.
  • Assume good faith, and engage in constructive edits; your contributions should improve the quality of the project or work. Provide and receive feedback kindly and in good faith. Criticism should be delivered in a sensitive and constructive manner. All members should assume unless evidence otherwise exists that others are here to collaboratively improve the projects, but this should not be used to justify statements with a harmful impact.
  • Respect the way that contributors name and describe themselves. People may use specific terms to describe themselves. As a sign of respect, use these terms when communicating with or about these people, where linguistically or technically feasible. Examples include:
    • Ethnic groups may use a specific name to describe themselves, rather than the name historically used by others;
    • People may have names that use letters, sounds, or words from their language which may be unfamiliar to you;
    • People who identify with a certain sexual orientation or gender identity using distinct names or pronouns;
    • People having a particular physical or mental disability may use particular terms to describe themselves

Unacceptable behaviour

  • Harassment and other types of inappropriate behaviour are unacceptable in all public and private Wikimedia technical spaces. Examples include but are not limited to:
    • Personal attacks, violence, threats of violence, threats of legal action, or deliberate intimidation.
    • Offensive, derogatory, or discriminatory comments.
    • Gratuitous or off-topic use of sexual language or imagery.
    • Inappropriate or unwanted public or private communication, following, or any form of stalking.
    • Unwanted photography or recording.
    • Disclosure of a person's identity or other private information without their consent. Disclosure of some identifying information is not consent to disclose other identifying information.
    • Inappropriate or unwanted publication of private communication. Publishing or reporting private communication or personally identifying information for the purposes of reporting harassment (as explained here) and/or in the case of whistleblowing, is acceptable.
    • Harming the discussion or community with methods such as sustained disruption, interruption, or blocking of community collaboration (i.e. trolling).
    • Discrimination, particularly against marginalised and otherwise underrepresented groups. Targeted outreach to such groups is allowed and encouraged.
    • Using the code of conduct system for purposes other than reporting genuine violations of the code of conduct (e.g., retaliating against a reporter or victim by filing a report claiming their response was harassment).

Disclaimer of Warranties & Other Disclaimers

  • All materials, information, products and services (“Material”) included in or available through this site may contain inaccuracies or typographical errors. ESMRMB makes no representations about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or timeliness of the Material.
  • Changes are periodically made to the wiki and may be made at any time. ESMRMB accepts no responsibility for the opinions and information posted on this site by others.
  • Use of the ESMRMB wiki is solely at your own risk. ESMRMB does not warrant that the wiki will operate error-free or that the wiki and its servers are free of computer viruses or other harmful goods. If your use of this group or the Material results in the need for servicing or replacing equipment or data, ESMRMB is not responsible for those costs. The Materials are provided on an “as is” basis without any warranties of any kind.
  • ESMRMB disclaims all warranties to the fullest extent of the law, including the warranty or merchantability, non-infringement of third party rights and the warranty of fitness for particular purpose.
  • ESMRMB makes no warranties about the accuracy, reliability, completeness or timeliness of the Material, services, graphics and links or that any defects or errors will be corrected.
  • Contributions by members do not represent any official position or opinion of the ESMRMB. The ESMRMB cannot make claims regarding the nature or appropriateness of the opinions offered by members, or whether they are experienced, professionally licensed, certified or otherwise credentialed. Contributions are not intended to either constitute or substitute for in-person, professional medical or clinical advice or consultation on general techniques or specific problems. People who want to utilize any form of MR or any of the methods presented in the wiki for any purpose should not rely on the information they attained from the group alone, but should qualify themselves by face-to-face interactive professional training and supervised experience.

Limitation of Liability

  • ESMRMB will not be liable for any lost profits, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential or any other damages whatsoever resulting from the content of this group or the use of, or inability to use, this group.
  • This limitation applies to any alleged liability based on any legal theory including, but not limited to, contract, tort, negligence, warranty or strict liability, even if ESMRMB has been advised of the possibility of such damage.
  • Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, ESMRMB liability in such jurisdiction shall be limited to the extent permitted by law.
  • ESMRMB reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to update or revise this page at any time. Notice of such changes will not be transmitted to anyone and will be located only here. Any revisions will become effective the first day immediately. If you contribute to the wiki after notice is received, then you will be deemed to have accepted the revised rules and are bound by them.

Right to Moderate Users

  • ESMRMB, through the administrators, reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to moderate any user, with or without notice, for any reason including, but not limited to, their failure to abide by these terms and conditions of use.

Right to Terminate Access

  • ESMRMB, through the administrators, monitors the wiki for inappropriate postings. If notified by a user that misconduct or bias or other behavior not conducive to open discussion has occurred, ESMRMB, through the administrators, may investigate the allegation and determine in its sole discretion whether to remove or request the removal of the member from the wiki.
  • ESMRMB, through the administrators, reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate your access to contributing to the wiki, with or without notice, for any reason including, but not limited to, your failure to abide by these terms and conditions of use.
  • Any member who has been terminated may petition for reinstatement after a waiting period of 1 month. ESMRMB shall have sole discretion as to whether reinstatement is permitted, provided no legal action, threatened or real, or other threats or coercion has been brought against ESMRMB, the member has not presented himself falsely and he has not re-registered as a member other than himself.

Indemnity

  • You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ESMRMB, its officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any claims, actions or demands, including without limitation reasonable legal and accounting fees, alleging or resulting from your use of this group and/or Material or your breach of the terms of this Agreement. ESMRMB shall provide notice to you promptly of any such claim, suit, or proceeding and shall assist you, at your expense, in defending any such claim, suit or proceeding.
