Ioannis Tsougos is a Professor of Medical Physics at the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, and Head of the Medical Informatics and Biomedical Imaging Laboratory. He is also a collaborating faculty member with the Institute of Applied BioSciences at CERTH, the Center for Research and Technology Hellas, Thessaloniki, Greece, and a Visiting Professor at King’s College London Department of Neuroimaging. His current research interests include precision medicine in cancer, radiobiology in the field of ionizing radiation, the application of advanced imaging techniques and artificial intelligence in Biomedical Imaging. He has served as Vice Dean of the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly (2021-2023), and is the President of the Faculty of Medicine Members' Association and a member of the European School for Medical Physics Experts (ESMPE). He holds an MSc in Medical Physics and an MSc in Medical Education, while his PhD Thesis is in the field of Medical Physics - Radiobiology. He has published over 120 Papers in international Scientific Journals with >2350 citations and an h index of 26. He is the author of the book Advanced MR Neuroimaging |Routledge, and co-author of over 15 Book Chapters.
